Microsoft Certified Solution Expert - Business Intelligence

I previously blog about learning SQL Server through certification, and I continue doing so. Last year I obtained my MCTS and MCITP in database development an database administration respectively. The certification provides me a comprehensive overview and exposure of different features and techniques that often being overlooked as we bury ourselves in our regular busy work schedule.

As I am getting more involved in SQL Server BI stacks (SSIS, SSRS and SSAS), I started learning the concept on my own, practiced in my virtual machine and implemented the techniques as my work requires. Business Intelligence (BI) solution involves multiple aspects and details including ETL (extract, transform, loading) process and its deployment, data warehouse implementation, DQS, MDS, data modeling, OLAP cube, reporting and other services.

Inspired by Microsoft 60-days to MCSE challenge, I started my preparation and took exam from December 2012 and passed my last exam today for the MSCE BI 2012! Yes, my expression is identical to the above picture when I walked out the exam room.

I am glad that I have achieved Microsoft Certified Solution Expert (MCSE) 2012 in Business Intelligence. I believe the knowledge and skills I learned throughout the certification process will help me to make a better decision in providing solution for business requirement.
